One of my favorite restaurants for a good prime rib also served one of my all time favorite cocktails, a perfect bloody Mary that was garnished with marinated shrimp instead of a celery stick, it was a nice touch. The proportions here are for 6 cocktails, feel free to mix up as much as needed for the occasion, just make sure you remember to marinate more shrimp, they will be popular!
36 ounces V-8 juice
9 ounces vodka
1 1/2 teaspoons celery salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
3 tablespoons lemon juice
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
6 large shrimp, shelled and deveined and cooked
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 clove finely minced garlic
1 teaspoon finely minced fresh cilantro
1. Marinate shrimp in oil, lemon, salt, pepper, garlic and cilantro 4 hours or overnight. Remove from marinade and allow to drain.
2. Take a pitcher and mix together juice, vodka and seasonings. Add Worcestershire and Tabasco to taste.
3. Place a shrimp on a glass length skewer and place in the glass. Add ice cubes and fill with the mixed bloody Mary mix. Garish with a fresh sprig of cilantro on top if you have some leftover.
